If you are not familiar with the look of a tulle table skirt, think of a light, breezy and airy look around the table. The tulle is a fabric that typically made of synthetic fibers such as nylon or rayon, but it can also be made from cotton or even silk. For durability and resistance to spills, the rayon and nylon or a blend with cotton is typically used for table skirts and other types of decorations.
The Style
While you can create a tulle skirt around the table by simply attaching bundles of tulle to the table top, this is a difficult process. Additionally, as people walk by or lean against the table, it is easy for these bunches to come loose, creating a mess.
By using a tulle table skirt the tulle is attached to a band, usually satin, that provides a solid anchor for the strands of tulle. There is Velcro that is attached to the back of the band, allowing it to attach solidly to the table.
In some designs, the tulle is variegated in color. This can include a lighter and darker shade of a color to give a sense of depth and movement to the table skirt. This is perfect on a gift table or even for all tables. Since the skirt is not solid but individual stands, it doesn’t restrict the movement of chairs.
Additionally, with the tulle, the legs of the table are concealed. This makes it ideal for a gift table or a cake table, particularly if the bride and groom or the guests may be using this area in pictures.
