- You have up to 2 years from the time of the original purchase or 24000 miles whichever comes first
- There must be 4 or more attempts to repair unsuccessfully or it must be out of service for 30 calendar days in a year
- The issues must be of safety in nature, mechanical or a defect that keeps you from using the car
One of the most common answers that a dealer will use when responding to claims under the lemon law is that the owner of the vehicle did not allow the dealer to make the repairs, so it is imperative that you keep good records about the circumstances. Be sure you get copies of work orders every time your car is in the shop.
