Next, participants continue to learn in a salon setting in Designer I. They are taught introductory real-life skills on how to operate a business. Additionally, classes focus on how to treat guests, retain clients and selling products. Designer I requires students attend 36 hours per week. Designer II, also 36 hours per week, focuses on test prep and how to secure a job. Test prep is important because students must pass a state exam to be licensed. Finally, students learn how to prepare a resume and job interview skills. Financial aid is available for qualified individuals.
