When it comes to managing and regulating the flow of media through a system, the correct choice of valves is critical. Different types of applications require a variety of types of valves, including valves made of a wide range of materials.

In some types of applications, particularly where contamination, reaction or corrosion is not a concern, metal valves are an effective, long lasting option. In high purity types of applications, clean rooms, and in sanitary process industries, the choice of non-reactive, inert and non-corrosive valves is a central factor.

One of the most effective options for these type of specialized applications is the use of polypropylene valves. For additional purity and non-reactivity of the valve, the interior wetted surfaces of the valves may be coated with PTFE or polytetrafluoroethylene. With all the different options in these valves, taking the time to consider the best option for the application is critical.

Check Valves

One of the most important of the polypropylene valves, these are also very simple in design. With one inlet and out outlet port, they are designed to prevent backflow of media through the valve in any type of system or application.

Ball Valves

Ball valves are commonly used in any type of application where on and off control is the primary concern. They can be designed with a manual 90-degree turn to turn the flow on or off, but they are also available for electric and pneumatic actuation.

Metering Valves

For control over the flow volume in a system, particularly when small adjustments need to be made, a metering valve is a top option in polypropylene valves. These can also be used for on and off control, but with the ability to meter the flow they are more versatile in many applications than a standard ball valve.

Polypropylene is a durable, long-lasting material that is lightweight and strong. These are low maintenance valves that are designed to stand up to very demanding applications and environments, even with high temperatures as a concern.
