Are you considering moving into Purdue University off-campus housing? Most students are required to live in the dorms their first year or two at school before deciding to move into their apartment. This has several great benefits, but there are still a lot of reasons to avoid doing so. Take a look at the following three reasons to avoid moving out of your dorm room.
1. Too Much Privacy – Why would you want to have your bedroom when you can share a small closet with a virtual stranger? Frankly, Purdue University’s off-campus housing provides so much privacy it could drive you insane. Stay in the dorms, where you will have to share a public restroom and shower with 10-20 other people every day.
2. It’s Cheaper – One drawback of moving out of the dorms is you will no longer have the opportunity to pay for a costly meal plan all year. This is often required when you live in the dorms but not when you live in an apartment. Moving off-campus is a great way to save money, but do you want to have lower student loans to deal with when you graduate?
3. Free Time – When you live off-campus, you have a lot more free time. You’re no longer in the protective bubble of Purdue’s campus. Do you want all this freedom and independence? I think not.
If these reasons don’t deter you, consider moving into an apartment at Alight West Lafayette next semester. Take a look at the floorplans they offer on their website at https://alight-westlafayette.com/
