Polytetrafluoroethylene, more simply known as PTFE, is a man-made fluoropolymer that is strong, durable and provides an ideal material for many types of parts and components. This is also known by the brand name of Teflon and provides a non-stick surface that is also non-reactive to chemicals and organic materials.

When a nitrogen spray gun or drying gun is needed for operation in any type of environment, PTFE also makes an ideal material for the gun. The properties of the material make it a preferred choice for a spray gun that will be durable and long lasting.

Non-Reactive and Corrosion Resistant

Using a nitrogen spray gun that is non-reactive and non-corrosive, particularly in environments where there is high humidity, moisture, and corrosive materials is always recommended. These guns will last much longer than other types of spray guns as parts and components on the interior, and the exterior of the gun will not degrade even with heavy, frequent use and exposure to acids.

Highly Durable in All Conditions

Unlike some types of plastics, PTFE is highly durable even in extreme types of working conditions. The melting point of this material is 620 degrees Fahrenheit, and it retains its strength at temperatures as low as minus 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

It is important to note that the natural properties of PTFE, which include lubrication, ensure that the gun is easy to clean and maintain, which adds to the long life and operation of these types of options.

Customization Possibilities

As a thermoplastic polymer, PTFE is very easy to work with and to provide custom options for any model of nitrogen spray gun. While most applications will not need a custom option, it can be an important factor in choosing a particular manufacturer and gun model that can be customized as needed.
