When you hear that someone is NASM certified, this means they have completed a certification program provided by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. There are four different paths under NSAM to become certified as a professional trainer. In addition to that, there are a few different certificates available by the NASM in addition to the certified personal trainer program.

When looking to gain your NASM certification in NYC, you have four choices. Each has a different price and requires different things from you. The most flexible option is the self-study program which lets you learn and study on your own without having any kind of required schedule. There is also a premium self-study option which has the same flexibility but more content for your educational needs.

The third option is the guiding study, where you get all the same material as you would with the premium self-study. You will also get a mentor and coach, so you have someone to ask questions who can also advise you on the way to go. This can be helpful for those who aren’t confident with studying on their own.

Finally, the all-inclusive program is an option. This costs more than the other programs, but you also get the largest amount of support. You get all the information from the premium self-study, along with the CPT Development Program. This means you can get on-site experience with your own hands. The excellent thing about this program is you get your money back if you don’t find a personal trainer job within three months of graduating.

The National Academy of Sports Medicine uses a specific training model that is based on scientific evidence, in order to provide you with the best training to help your clients and yourself achieve the results you desire.

The training model has six parts. There are strength, core, balance, flexibility, power, and cardiorespiratory endurance. This gives the knowledge needed to decrease fat, improve overall health, and increase lean muscle. When you work with a program to obtain your NASM certification in NYC, topics covered will include everything from anatomy and physiology to kinesiology, the science of movement, and developing a curriculum.

Some of the other certifications offered by NASM include Weight Loss Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Golf Fitness Specialist Certification, and Mixed Martial Arts Conditional Specialist. There are also a few other organizations that offer certifications similar to the NASM personal trainer certification available.
